Recently, we received a 1-star review on our Google page from a parent of a candidate. We believe it’s important to address it transparently, not just for that family, but for every job seeker who connects with us.
What Actually Happened?
A candidate applied through us for a Sales Executive role. He cleared all 3 interview rounds at the client company. In the final offer letter, the company mentioned a performance-based target clause, which is standard for any sales role.
The candidate did not want to have targets. And because of that, we received a 1-star review.
This incident made us realize we need to clarify a few things once and for all.
1. We Are a BRIDGE, Not the Employer
Adyan Consultants is a recruitment consultancy. We connect you to companies for FREE. We do not decide your salary, your targets, your working hours, or your company’s hiring and firing policies. Those are decided solely by the client company. Our role is to bring the opportunity to your doorstep and guide you through the process.
2. A Sales Job Without a Target is Not a Sales Job
This is the fundamental nature of sales, in any industry, in any company, anywhere in the world. Sales means performance. You work, you perform, you grow, and you get paid. There is no sales role in the market without targets. Expecting a sales job without a target is like expecting a driving job without driving.
3. Getting a Job Requires Effort
Travelling 15-20 kms for an interview, giving multiple rounds, submitting documents for verification — this is not harassment. This is the standard process of getting a job.A job is a responsibility, and the process to get it requires sincerity and effort. An opportunity does not come to your sofa; you have to get up and earn it.
